Hot Springs has a great locally-owned ice cream shop: Two Cows Creamery creates dozens of flavors of ice cream, gelatos, and sorbets using milk and cream from a South Dakota dairy.
They have the usual cones and cups, or you can get shakes, malts, sodas, and floats in their own recipes such as “Calamity Jane” (salted caramel and peanut butter ice creams) or “Wyatt Burp” (ginger ale and vanilla ice cream).
If it happens to be snowing when you’re there, you can get unlimited scoops of ice cream for $2!
In addition to ice cream, they also serve lunch and dinner. We’ve enjoyed several of their burgers and sandwiches, and their chili cheese fries are delicious. Crispy homemade dill pickles are served with their sandwiches.
The owners of Two Cows Creamery also own a small farm, and they sell homegrown produce, eggs, and milk inside the ice cream shop.
