Hot Springs has a great locally-owned ice cream shop: Two Cows Creamery creates dozens of flavors of ice cream, gelatos, and sorbets using milk and cream from a South Dakota dairy. They also serve great sandwiches and burgers, with primarily locally-sourced ingredients.
They have the usual cones and cups, or you can get shakes, malts, sodas, and floats in their own recipes such as “Calamity Jane” (salted caramel and peanut butter ice creams) or “Wyatt Burp” (ginger ale and vanilla ice cream).
If it happens to be snowing when you’re there, you can get unlimited scoops of ice cream for $2!
In addition to ice cream, they also serve lunch and dinner. Everything we’ve tried, from burgers to sandwiches to hotdogs, has been delicious! The yak-and-beef-chili cheese fries are another great option, their garlic parmesan upgrade for the fries is worth the extra dollar. Crispy homemade dill pickles are served with their sandwiches.
The owners of Two Cows Creamery also own a small farm, and they sell homegrown produce, meat, and eggs from their own farm and other local growers. Milk and cream from Stensland Family Farms is also available.
Two Cows Creamery is located at 237 N. River Street, next to The Silk Road and just a seven-minute walk from The Evanston Suites!
