Cascade Springs is a small picnic area about thirteen minutes south of Hot Springs on South Dakota Highway 71.
This is not to be confused with Cascade Falls, which is a popular swimming hole. If you’re looking for the place to jump in and swim around, you want Cascade Falls, which is two miles farther south than Cascade Springs.
Cascade Springs is the origination point of Cascade Creek, which flows at 67ยบ year-round. This picnic area is simple, with a few picnic tables and pit toilets, as well as a couple of small pools for soaking in the warm waters.
This particular area around the stream is pretty lush and overgrown, so watch out for poison ivy!
